Anger in Adolescent Communities: How Angry Are They?

Conclusion

This study has provided results that may allow a new direction for developing modalities to prevent and treat angry adolescents. By increasing the current knowledge of anger in non-clinical adolescents, it may be possible to gain insight into what keeps them from becoming angry. As previously mentioned, we cannot wait until these youth are in the juvenile system to get help. We must target them while they are still in our community and shape a public policy that addresses this issue. We can come together to identify those with disorders or feelings of isolation or disconnect, and get treatment services based in communities where they can still function and not be isolated. These children need a mentor or someone to go to they can trust to build a safe and secure environment for adolescents. This greater knowledge may aid in assessment and treatment of adolescents with dysfunctional anger.
