Whether your dad is approaching a birthday or Father's Day is coming up soon, he will be delighted to receive a handmade or sentimental gift that comes from the heart. You do not have to blow your budget to please good old Dad. Simply create and shop creatively. Make your gift personal. Select a gift that says, "I love you, Dad." - Purchase a photo frame and inscribe it with a sentimental message or title. Examples include: "One-of-a-Kind Pair", "People may come and go, but Dad is there always" or "Partners in Laughter... and Crime". Put a photo of you and your dad in the frame. The photo can be lighthearted or from a special trip the two of you enjoyed together.
- You do not have to be a writer to compose an essay or poem about what your father means to you. Try to keep your thoughts to one typed page. Write freely at first, and then go back to edit and add. When you have a final draft of your essay or poem, frame it. If your budget allows, have the frame engraved with the title of the essay or poem.
- For the dad who likes to "fix things", purchase a stocked tool box with at least one power drill. Have the toolbox engraved with your dad's name. It also may be possible to have some of the tools engraved with your father's initials so he always knows which ones are his if he takes them to a work site or lends them to someone.
