How to Infuse Coffee Beans

    • 1). Pour 1 lb. of freshly roasted coffee beans into an opaque container that has a tightly locking lid. Bury some whole spices in the coffee beans. Use single flavors, like cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans or whole nutmegs, or mix them up for a custom flavor.

    • 2). Seal the container shut and set it on a counter where it won't be disturbed. Leave the spices in the beans for at least 24 hours. The longer you leave them together with the beans, the stronger and more pronounced a spice flavor you will get.

    • 3). Grind one batch of coffee beans and brew a pot. Take care not to get any of the spice itself in the grinder. If the spice flavor is to your liking, remove the whole spices from the canister. If it's not strong enough, leave the spices in for at least another day.

    • 4). Tear a piece of white bread into small pieces and pulse them in the coffee grinder. This will remove any flavor essential oils that may have transferred from the flavored coffee to the grinder blades.
