    • 1). Shuffle on our right foot on the count of “8 &.”

    • 2). Pick up (pullback) your left foot on the count of “a 1.” A pickup/pullback is a back brush. The dancer must hop because you need to get some height so that you can brush the ball of your foot backward and against the floor. For some dancers, this is not an easy step to execute.

    • 3). Step down on your right foot on the count of “2.”

    • 4). Flap step your left foot to the front on the count of “& 3.” A flap is comparable to a brush step.

    • 5). Step in place on your right foot on the count of “&.”

    • 6). Learn the steps in orders: shuffle pull back (or pick up) step flap step.

    • 7). Remember the count: 8 & a 1 2 & 3 &.
