How to Check the Pupils
- 1). Take the person whose pupils you are checking to a place with strong light.
- 2). Look for pupil enlargement. If the person is in a place with good light, the pupil should be relatively small. If the pupils are enlarged, this may be a sign of serious injury. The person may also complain of blurred vision or double vision, which are signs that she should be taken to a doctor.
- 3). Check to see if the pupils are the same size. Pupils should be roughly the same size, though there are people who naturally have pupils of different sizes. Irregular pupils alone are not a sign of injury, especially if he is otherwise able to function normally.
