Effective Home Remedy for Constipation

Constipation is a condition of the digestive tract in which bowel movement is infrequent or hard.
In addition, the movements do not induce complete emptying of the bowels.
Constipation is usually caused by a poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle.
However, the condition can be treated and there are many home remedies for constipation.
A diet that is rich in red meat and highly processed foods, coupled with a sedentary lifestyle, can cause constipation.
Insufficient intake of fluids can also contribute to constipation as well as indigestion.
A simple but effective home remedy for constipation is to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and to add more fiber to your diet.
Vegetable and fruit juices can contribute both fluids and fiber.
Papaya puree, carrot juice or cabbage juice will help relieve constipation.
You can also treat constipation by consuming a healthy diet.
Reduce your intake of red meat, processed meats, pastries and white bread as these foods contain minimal fiber.
Instead, eat more fruits, beans, whole grains and vegetables that have adequate amounts of fiber.
Dietary fiber ensures regular bowel movements by adding mass to the stool.
This stimulates the colon to push it along.
You need 20 to 35 grams of dietary fiber each day.
If you cannot get this from your diet, fiber supplements will help.
Be sure to increase your fiber intake gradually to prevent gas.
You should also drink enough of water.
You can also use the following remedies for constipation at home: 1.
Mix 1 teaspoon of olive oil with water and lemon juice.
Drink this in the morning before breakfast.
2.
Honey is a mild laxative.
Take 1 tablespoon of honey three times a day.
If this does not work, mix the honey with an equal amount of blackstrap molasses.
3.
Drink carrot, tomato or prune juices to relieve constipation.
4.
Drink a glass of hot milk before going to bed at night.
In extreme cases of constipation, mix 2 teaspoons of castor oil in the milk.
5.
Add the juice of one lime and half a teaspoon of salt to a glass of hot water.
This is good for constipation.
6.
Exercise is an effective home remedy for constipation.
It improves blood circulation and causes the food to move faster in the digestive tract.
You can go to a gym or take a brisk walk.
Pregnant women are often constipated as their bodies adapt to changes caused by pregnancy.
Walking will help relieve constipation.
Although constipation is not considered a serious condition, it leads to the accumulation of toxins that can cause diseases like arthritis, cataracts, cancer, appendicitis, etc.
Using a good home remedy for constipation can help prevent this problem.
