Tips on Getting Pregnant - Risk Factors That Need to Be Looked at First - Part 1

We live in the modern age, the information age, the age where everything is supposed to come quickly, easily, and without much time wasted looking for tips on getting pregnant.
However, that isn't how the world actually works...
even though it should right! ;) The sad truth is that today more and more couples and especially women are finding it more and more difficult to get pregnant and conceive a child than ever before, but just because things are a bit tougher for us than our grandparents generation does not mean that it's anything close to being impossible.
In fact, most people make it seem like a much more difficult and complicated task then it really is, and trust me I would know! It took me over 2 years to finally conceive my first child, and if I learned anything it was that I simply needed to make things seem more simple, and take things day by day.
So now when dishing out tips on getting pregnant, I make sure to start with the most basic and core principles of pregnancy and conception, and make sure that the other person understands them even if they've already been trying for some time already (of course this is only if they don't know these issues already).
The first thing that really needs to be done, is to stop back for a moment and take a look at your risk factors that you face, or might possibly face in the near future.
If you've already been trying to conceive for a while now, then learning and understanding these risk factors might actually lead you to understand why you have yet to conceive, or perhaps spark an idea towards something that can finally get you that BFP (big fat positive) that you've been dreaming of for so long already.
A quick glimpse of your current and possible risk factors: Is there any history of birth defects in your family? This includes the history of your partner's family as well of course.
Are there any diseases, disorders, or health problems that plague your family or your partners? Is the mother going to be over the age of 35 when the baby will be born or expected to be born? Is there any family history with either partner on previous child births where the baby has inherited or taken upon any of the family's birth defects or health problems? Are there any records or is there any history of an unexpected and early natural death of a child in either family? Do you have a history of miscarriages? Are there any learning disabled family members within either side of the family? What are all the ethnic backgrounds in your family and how can they have an effect on your future child and pregnancy? The list might seem long, and sometimes scary, but it is something that you should take in with a lot of importance, but also not something that you should sit there freaking out about.
Just about family has some problems down the line here and there, and by no means does it mean that you child will inherit those problems or that you can't conceive and get pregnant because of them.
Take things step by step, relax and breath, and you'll find that this is a much more simple process than most doctors, books, or even your own mind make it out to be.
This article is only part 1 in a many part article series, so please do look through my many articles on the subject, and all my tips on getting pregnant.
I know how you feel, I was there years ago, and would love to lending a helping hand when and where I can! :)
