Living With Diabetes - Eating Right
Have you struggled with healthy eating as a Diabetic or someone with high blood pressure or High Cholesterol or obesity? My life was a struggle and I know how it feels but I found some help and maybe this can help you as well.
I was diagnosed with diabetes 5 years ago at the age of 35.
I am a type 1 Diabetic and I use an insulin pump.
I found that the things I was eating before my diabetic breakout was not good for me.
I also found that breaking these eating habits was very tough for me.
I am not overweight and have always been very athletic.
It was a shock to me when I got this disease at the age of 35.
Every time I went to see my Dr.
, he always got on me because of my eating habits.
He never really told me how to change, just that I needed to.
Just this past year I researched good foods and recipes and found this one book of recipes that has really helped me change my eating habits.
It has given me new recipes of healthier foods and recipes.
It has helped me lower my insulin intake every day and also it has created a new idea of the foods that I should eat.
I really like the recipes and I feel like a new person, now that I have been eating with goals.
My goal is to live a long and prosperous life and enjoy my family.
I saw my Grandpa die from diabetes and I loved him with everything that was in me.
He was also an alcoholic and lost his legs and died in the hospital in so much pain.
I don't want that for anyone.
I want to see people live a happy life! if I can help people by showing them new things to eat to help them stay healthy it would be the least I could do.
I know it is an individuals choice but hopefully this article has inspired them to stay healthy with diabetes or to make better choices if they have fallen to the disease.
YOU CAN DO THIS! DON'T GIVE UP!My wife even started eating these recipes and found herself losing weight and helping her high blood pressure.
I now would like to help anyone struggling to adjust to their new lifestyle the way I have.
I hope this helps a lot of people out there.
After going to a healthier meal plan my whole family has become healthier.
We feel better and have so much energy without the need of energy boosters or energy drinks to get us through the day.
I was also noticing other changes.
My vision started improving also.
The foods that we have been eating are all natural foods.
I am a meat cutter.
On my job I have prepared Lamb, Veal, Seafood and Bison for customers but never really tried these meats until now.
I found not only are they healthy for you but they are so delicious as well.
Here is a great recipe that you can try that my family loves! So Easy! Grilled Salmon-- 1 pound of salmon fillet - Rub olive oil and salt and pepper and squeeze some lemon on a hot grill lay salmon fillet skin side down and let cook for 15 minutes.
Take salmon off the grill and skin will just fall off.
Serve with steamed small red potatoes with skins on, quartered and steamed green beans.
There are so many more great recipes that taste great and are easy to prepare.
Thank you for letting me share my testimony with you.
I hope and pray you will find this helpful if you struggle with Diabetes and having to make choices for a healthier lifestyle.
