Things to Carry Along During Yacht Charters

103 4
Once you have closed a deal with the yacht charter company for your dream voyage, the next step is to prepare what you need.
Make sure that all pertinent documents are ready if you are sailing to another country.
Put your passport, visa, plane tickets, credit cards and cash in a hand-carried bag.
This bag should always be secured during your cruise.
Get a soft-sided bag for your luggage.
Storage space for boats is limited so you need suitcases that can be folded and put away after unpacking.
Avoid wheeled and hard-sided satchels that can damage the deck floors and walls.
The fundamental rule is to go for the essentials.
You do not need to bring plenty of clothes.
One pair of formal wear is enough.
The rest should be light attire and swim wear.
Boat rental firms do not allow the use of street shoes on board.
You can choose between wearing slippers, light-sole footwear or going shoeless.
Bring along a pair of water shoes if you plan to swim in areas with jagged rocks and sea urchins.
Most of the time, you have to wear a swimsuit with wraparound.
Include diving mask, snorkel, fins and light wet suit in your baggage.
Companies do not provide this stuff.
The best covers for women over bathing suits are t-shirts, kilts or tank tops.
Wear shorts or light jeans for protection against the sun.
Informal garb is allowed when you go to shore except perhaps for churches and fine dining restaurants.
Sundresses are perfect for females while slacks and shirts are the best outfits for men.
Do not forget leggings, socks and sweater if you are traveling during early spring or late autumn.
A waterproof jacket will also come in handy.
What type of gadgets do you need to bring? Electronic items such as laptops, cameras and small electrical devices should be on top of your list.
Chargers for mobile phones as well as headphones are also very important.
However, inquire from the yacht charterer about electrical outlets before you bring these contrivances.
There may be extra fees for this service.
Refer to the terms and conditions of your contract.
Prescription medicines, first-aid kits and remedies for seasickness are important.
Remember that some prescriptions are not honored in foreign countries.
Thus, personal medications should always be part of your essentials.
Consider bringing several plastic bags for your laundry or wet clothing.
