    Super Bowl IX

    • The Steelers were a struggling franchise until the early 1970s, when they put together a stifling defense known as the "Steel Curtain." In Super Bowl IX, the Steelers held the Minnesota Vikings to 17 yards rushing in a 16-6 victory.

    Super Bowl X

    • The Steelers repeated as champions in 1976 by downing the Dallas Cowboys 21-17 behind 161 yards receiving from wide receiver Lynn Swann.

    Super Bowls XIII and XIV

    • Pittsburgh won back-to-back titles in 1979 and 1980, beating first the Cowboys and then the Los Angeles Rams in thrilling Super Bowls.

    Super Bowl XXX

    • Pittsburgh returned to the title game after the 1995 season but this version of the Steelers was no match for Dallas, falling 27-17.

    Super Bowls XL and XLIII

    • In 2006, the Steelers secured their fifth Super Bowl win by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21-10. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes' acrobatic catch in the end zone climaxed the Steelers' sixth Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XLIII, when they stopped the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 on February 1, 2009.
