Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for June 16, 2008
< Continued from page 2
As it turns out, Tina’s devoted servant, Ambassador Jonas (played by Kevin Spirtas from 'Days of our Lives') is not so devoted; at least not to her. When he and Tina are getting away, he shoots John and then pulls the gun on Tina so he can grab the jewel case. Of course Tina bops him a good one and gets away with the jewels and little David Vickers and winds up in the park to find Sarah and Cristian there.
Ambassador Jonas shows up and holds Cris and Sarah at gunpoint as he is looking for Tina. Need I go on? So tell me, how badly do we need another stupid storyline? But hey, we are rid of Ramsey and that deserves a big WHOOPIE!!!!
But never fear, Todd is back in control, the creep. He just happens to spot Tina in her limo, follows her to the penthouse and comes in after Ramsey has been shot. He finds Marty upstairs and of course, she has no memory so Todd can take full advantage of her. Honestly, Todd just makes me uncomfortable, like I want to take a hot shower to wash off the ick after I’ve been watching him. We all know that it’s never in Todd’s mind to be helpful to anyone unless it serves him, so of course he takes full control of the situation, threatens Nurse Janet so that she’ll help him take care of Marty and removes Marty from the penthouse. Lovely! Will he hold her and keep her at his mercy like he did Nora several years ago, depriving her of her family and friends? Will he use it to his advantage to hurt Cole and John?
You tell me! And who is Tina’s ambassador answering to when he talks about getting the jewels? Can Carlo Hesser be far behind? UGH!!!
See ya next week.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS
Sandie writes: “I have been watching OLTL for many years and I couldn’t believe that the character of Nash was removed from the show. It took Jessica and Nash a long time to get together and they were such a perfect couple. It’s not going to be the same without him. The character of Nash was so good he had such a great personality plus he was very cute. I think the fans really needed him on the show it just really saddens me that this had to happen. And I, like other fans, could care less about Carlo Hesser and Tina Lord. They are old news as far as I’m concerned. Can’t we have a medical miracle for Nash?”
Dear Sandie: I couldn’t agree with you more and many people wrote in saying the same thing. I liked the character of Nash from the start, even when he was a “bad boy” and I grew to love him as his character developed on the show. I feel very strongly that firing actors that the fans really like to make room on the payroll for returning characters like Carlo and Tina is wrong. I’m sure that fans of Carlo and Tina will disagree with you and me, but I think Carlo has been resurrected enough times already and Tina was never anything but a pain in the neck in my opinion. Maybe this time around will be different; I always try to keep an open mind but I don’t think that seeing Tina will make me any less angry that Nash is gone. And having Marty back only means I will have to see more of Todd and we all know what I think about that. I wasn’t crazy about a romance between John and Marty before, when Christina Chambers played Marty. We’ll see what happens between John and Marty now that Susan Haskell is back. As far as medical miracles go, if I could have one of those, you know it would be to resurrect Ben. No contest!
Lorraine writes: “How long can Dorian keep B.E. once it comes out that she was part of conspiracy? She knew Jared wasn't real a Buchanan brother; can she now own B.E. in spite of that? When will David find out that he is a Buchanan? I can't wait!”
Dear Lorraine: From what I hear, Dorian will not be the owner of B.E. (or C.E. LOL) for long. I heard that by the time September rolls around, Clint and Bo will have the company back in the family. So, I guess we have the whole summer to watch her scheming to try and hold onto the company and do her best to mess with the Buchanans. And yes, David is going to find out he’s a Buchanan and it should be soon. I can’t wait either.
lward4 writes: “I was so exited to see Todd get reamed by all the kids and Blair! I played it at least four times and decided I just couldn't tape over it! It’s about time! Starr was so brave. Brody does clean up nicely! Boy, when Brody stands in a military style when talking to Shane and has him apologize to his mom for talking back to her, it tugs at your heart strings, till you remember what a handful Gigi would be getting with him! Dorian you sneak! Drugging and boozing Charlie up, my gosh! Poor Viki and poor Charlie. Thanks to OLTL for getting in a much humor as they do! Other soaps could take a lesson from this show.”
Dear lward4: Oh yeah, I had almost as much fun watching Todd get reamed as I do watching David’s antics. Not that anything to do with Todd is funny, but he sure deserved what he got and more. Of course, he’ll be fighting back and we all know when it comes to Todd that fighting back will be very dirty, so I’m just enjoying him being down as long as we can keep him that way. I feel sorry for Shane getting so attached to Brody when it is going to come out soon that Rex is his dad. Rex has a great relationship with Shane already, so I wonder how it will all iron out when the truth is revealed. This is yet another secret that is going to hurt people, none more than an innocent little boy. As far as Viki and Charlie go, she’s supposedly going to try to forgive him in the not to distant future, but unless they write the role of Charlie differently, I just don’t see them together right now. It’s pretty bad that Charlie’s actions caused one of Viki’s kids to have her life torn apart, so I have a hard time believing that Charlie is good enough for Viki, even if he was protecting his son. I can’t think of anything worse for Viki than one of her beloved family members being killed because the man in her life was keeping a destructive secret, so if she ever takes him back, I hope she makes him work for it. Right now, he’s not good enough for her in my opinion.
