Historical Sites

• If it's history you're looking for, Boston has it all for free. The first stop is the Bunker Hill Monument, which offers one of the best views of the Boston skyline. The monument stands in the place where most of the fighting took place 1775, Breed's Hill. For more history, head on over to the historical Boston Harbor, site of the Boston Tea Party, where you can tour the USS Constitution, affectionately known as Old Ironsides. Your next stop should be the Sam Adams brewery in Jamaica Plains for a free tour and tasting. After you've tasted the pride and joy of Boston, meander over to Beacon Hill to take a gander at the oldest building in the area, the Massachusetts State House. For a taste of the American Revolution, visit the Old North Church where the two lanterns were hung that sparked the revolution by sending Paul Revere on his historic ride. You would be remiss if you didn't take a moment to stop at Quincy Market's Faneuil Hall, the 250-year-old marketplace that has food, shopping and street entertainment. Free walking tours are also available from several companies, including A&M's, that are usually given by locals who know the area and understand the history.

• Nightlife and entertainment are also rich in Beantown. Take in a baseball game at the city's most beloved stadium, Fenway Park. For a more theatrical take on entertainment, the Boston Opera House has a full roster of both new and classical entertainment, such as plays, musicals and concerts, to suit even the most discerning theater connoisseur. Comedy is also a mainstay of Boston entertainment and can be experienced at venues like The Comedy Connection, Improv Asylum, Giggles Comedy Club and Dick's Beantown Comedy Vault.
  
  

Science

• The Boston Museum of Science is a must-see for adults and children alike. The lightning room and planetarium at the museum are two one-of-a-kind experiences. For an after-dark scientific experience, the Coit Observatory at Boston University allows people to view the stars every Wednesday after 8:30 p.m. through the spring and summer months. After a long day of sightseeing, this is definitely a nice way to relax and enjoy the night skies.
