How to Get Text Content With AT&T
- 1). Add a text messaging plan to your current line using AT&T's Online Account Management site. You will need your wireless phone number and password to log in. Click "Add Services" from your account page. Select "Messaging Plans" in the left sidebar under "Services." Review the text message options available for your account and select a plan that suits your needs.
- 2). Dial "611" and press "Send" to add text messaging to your cell plan through the phone. You will be connected to AT&T's customer service department. Select the appropriate prompts to reach an agent.
- 3). Ask the agent to explain the text message options available for your plan. Select the option that fits your needs. If you will send and receive a large amount of texts, consider selecting a higher priced text message add-on.
- 4). Open the Messages option on your phone to check your text messages. For example, on the BlackBerry 8300, tap "Messages" from your home screen. Text messages are displayed in this menu. Click on a message to open it. Press "Menu" and select "Reply," "Forward" or "Delete" after reading the message.
