It"s Time For the 2009 Coachella Valley Economic Report - To What Avail?
The Coachella Valley is in Riverside County in Southern California.
In this county, and you might know it because Palm Springs is in the same Valley, there are now nearly 500,000 residents during the peak season.
The peak season being the wintertime as the temperature is about 70 to 75-degrees all winter long.
And because all the snowbirds come to vacation in this resort community, so, there is a constant inflow of money from other places.
Over the years many snowbirds have decided to come in the wintertime, then changed their views and buy a home and stay all year round.
Each year the number of year round residents increases, and that means the economy is able to exist all year-round.
And each and every year the Coachella Valley puts out there "Coachella Valley Economic Report" and it explains all the historical data, all the graphs and charts that help us visualize the data.
This report tells us who all the movers and shakers are and all the wonderful meetings they've held, seminars and symposiums they've sponsored, and all the award banquets they've done where they've been able to give kudos, complements, and certificates and plaques to themselves and all the people involved.
Isn't that wonderful indeed? It surely is and now the 2009 Coachella Valley Economic Report is available, and yet, with all this wonderful data, and all these brilliant thinkers that are involved in economic development in the Valley, one has to ask; why aren't they progressing faster, and what they hope to do with all this wonderful data they've collected and put into this nice colorful "Summer Magazine Edition Length" brochure for everyone to see and look at and feel good about? That's my only question.
What good are these economic reports, if no one is acting on the information in a meaningful way? Just answer the question.
