Hemorrhoid Removal - Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy
Hemorrhoids are just swollen blood vessels that are fully stretched under pressure.
The most common cause of this strain is chronic constipation.
Ordinarily constipation will not cause hemorrhoids.
It is only when consistent chronic constipation causes the straining to be very frequent that hemorrhoids will erupt.
Hemorrhoids can be internal or external depending on their locations based on the dentate line of the anal canal.
The internal hemorrhoids can remain intact on the wall of the rectum (first-degree) or they can protrude but easily retractable voluntarily (second-degree) or they can be pushed back into the rectum with the aid of a finger (third-degree).
The external hemorrhoids and the prolapsed hemorrhoids cannot be helped at all because of the large size of the hemorrhoids.
They need to be removed physically.
You can either opt for surgery or use the effective home remedies.
Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy.
This is the more popular choice to treat the third- and fourth-degree hemorrhoids.
In this procedure, a circular, hollow tube is pushed into the rectum through which a suture is woven within the anal canal above the internal hemorrhoids.
The ends of the suture are brought out of the anus through the hollow tube.
The stapler is put through the first hollow tube after which the ends are pulled.
The hemorrhoid supporting tissues are pulled into the jaws of the stapler.
Once the stapler is fired, it will then cut off the tissues trapped within the stapler and immediately staples together the upper and lower edges of the cut tissues.
This procedure at the most takes only 30 minutes to perform but as usual there are post-operative risks and these include infection, bleeding, torn anal canal lining as well as the narrowing of the canal due to scarring and trauma to the rectal wall.
There is however a minimum amount of pain with this procedure.
Hemorrhoid removal need not necessarily be by way of surgical intervention as there are other home remedies that work just as effective and even better in the sense that there are no post-operative risks involved.
These home remedies are not only cheap, they are just as safe to use.
