How to Clean Cement From Tools
- 1). Chip big chunks of concrete from large tools and equipment with a hammer and chisel. Hold the chisel against the edge of a concrete chunk and strike the chisel's butt with a hammer to loosen the concrete.
- 2). Lay a plastic drop cloth or tarp on the ground if using concrete dissolving compound over a concrete surface --- concrete dissolving compound will etch the concrete slab.
- 3). Spray or pour concrete dissolving compound onto tools. Allow the compound to dissolve concrete for at least 15 minutes.
- 4). Scrub the dissolved concrete from the tool's surface with a synthetic-bristled brush and fresh, clean water to remove loosened concrete.
- 5). Rinse the tools with clean water and dry with a rag.
- 1). Soak tools in concrete dissolving compound if stains persist after spray application. Fill a small tray or bucket with concrete dissolving compound. Submerge tools in the concrete dissolving compound.
- 2). Allow tools to soak approximately 30 minutes.
- 3). Remove tools from bucket or tray and scrub them with a synthetic-bristled brush and water to remove loosened concrete.
- 4). Rinse the tools with clean water and dry with a rag.
