The downstairs of this mountain retreat in a partially forested area is available for rent as a two-master-suite accommodation that comes with a private entrance, living and movie rooms, a private bath, a private patio and its own area for breakfast. One parking space is provided. There are also a large-screen TV, a fireplace and a DVC/VCR player. On the property is a pond with a waterfall. Riverdance Cabin

• The Riverdance Cabin in the western part of North Carolina and in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains has two master suites, one with a queen bed upstairs and the second with a king bed downstairs. A log cabin that directly overlooks the Green River on a property with five wooded acres, the Riverdance Cabin has two bathrooms, direct TV on both floors, and a DVD/VHS player in its living room. Downstairs has a high cathedral-style ceiling. There is a wraparound deck, in addition to a gas-burning stove. The cabin is located on a property across from a park with picnic tables, grills, a playground and a basketball court. Fishing is available in the Green River.

Creekside Serenity

• The Creekside Serenity cabin in the northwestern part of the state has two master suites and is designed to accommodate two families with children. The cabin's amenities include two king beds, satellite TV, reading chairs and two side decks with private balconies. It also has a kitchen with a stove and dishwasher. Linens, cookware and eating utensils are provided. There is also free Wi-Fi Internet access, a hot tub that's big enough for six people, a fire pit, a washer, a dryer and a wood-burning fireplace.
