I'm Joe Pepe and today I'm going to teach you how to tone your calves without making them bigger. Now as I say that every time you work a muscle the muscle is going to adapt. It's going to become stronger, it's going to become more toned and slightly bigger. But you are not going to become a bodybuilder. You are not going to become bulky. I know a lot of people worry about that but that's not going to happen here. This movement is going to be a squat where you squat down so you are going to work the rest of your legs as well. But when you come up you are going to come up on your toes which is going to engage your calf muscle a little bit. So you are going to bend at the hips to do the squat. Bend at the knees make sure your knees stay behind your toes to avoid injury. But as you come up you are going to make sure that you're coming up on your tippy toes. Just add that little extra oomph to our workout. The squat with the calf raise will help tone your calf muscle without making it too much bigger.
