Is it Hype Or is it Just Good Copywriting?
Then tell me if you thought...
A) This sounds like an awesome deal.
I better hurry and buy it before it's gone.
B) This guy should write for the Comedy Channel.
If he thinks I am this stupid I sure as heck ain't buying anything from him.
C) If this was on a sales page you probably wouldn't even consciously see it.
You would evaluate the price and product and make a decision.
Gloss right over this part.
********Begin Ad Copy********* So how much is this going to cost? My accountant said I would be crazy to price it at less than $500 And it would indeed be a steal at $500!! But I'm not going to charge you $500 I'm not going to charge you $297 Or even $197 I remember what it was like to be just starting out, where you have to make every dollar count.
So I wanted to make it accessible to anyone who was truly serious about making a full-time income online.
For a limited time I am offering all of this for only $97 But I must warn you.
The Guru's are really angry with me that I am spilling all of their SECRETS for such an incredibly low price.
I honestly don't know how long I am going to be able to keep this available.
This is not marketing hype, I have really made some people angry for releasing this, so I may be forced at literally anytime to either substantially raise the price or remove it from the market immediately.
When this happens please do not write and ask me to get you an extra copy at the this price.
I will not be able to do that.
When it's gone it's gone!! ***************End Ad Copy****************** If you answered A, you had better give someone your credit card every time you log on to the Internet or you are going to be in bankruptcy court very soon.
If you answered B, you are probably just beginning to check out the Internet as a way of making an extra income.
With the state of the Economy you have either lost your job, or are worried that you may.
You haven't seen anything that really excites you yet.
In fact, most everything you've read seems like it was written to fleece the naive.
(That is those of you who answered A) If you answered C, you have been around the Industry for awhile.
You realize this is the way "CopyWriting" is done.
You've probably even studied some CopyWriting, you know that you have to increase the perceived value AND give the prospective customer the fear of loss, using scarcity, to encourage them to act now.
You don't believe what this writer says, but you do know why he says it.
You know that it is OK that you are using ads that turn off all of the B people because we have been taught that they are not in our target market.
We only want people who have already expressed an interest in our industry.
That's what Attraction Marketing is all about.
1.
Go where the experienced Marketers are.
2.
Offer them a FREE or Low Cost System to help them market WHATEVER they are promoting.
3.
Make some front-end CASH by selling affiliate products.
4.
Impress your customers with your leadership abilities so that they want to join you in your primary business no questions asked.
This formula has made a lot of people a lot of money.
How many times have you heard that the Internet changes constantly and you have to keep up with what is working today.
These waters were clear and clean when Mike Dillard et al introduced this formula.
But now, the waters are bloody red with an ever increasing amount of experienced marketers using this formula, fishing for each other in the same places.
Now look over your shoulder.
Do you see the big, bright, clean Blue Ocean? The only people over there are the people who chose answer B above.
Who are these people again?? People who are concerned about the Economy.
People who have either just lost their job or they are concerned that they may.
People who are, perhaps for the first time, looking to the Internet for additional income.
People who are completely turned off by the sleazy hype that we have become so accustomed to.
The Harvard Business Review published an article on the current and future state of marketing titled..
..
" The Blue Ocean Strategy " that explores this topic in depth.
Another questionnaire...
A) As a business owner I should be aware of the current happenings in my industry whether I agree with them or not.
B) The Internet Marketing Industry is NOT going to change.
I know that hypey copywriting is here to stay.
Attraction Marketing is the perfect business model and that is a fact that will never change.
If you answered B this will soon be your theme song...
