Location

• Some of the closest orchards to Phoenix where you can pick apples are in the town of Wilcox, to the southeast of the city. There you can visit Apple Annie's Orchard or Brown's Orchard.
  
  

Time Frame

• You can pick apples in Arizona from August to November. If you plan to go to an orchard further north in central Arizona, the apples are usually ready earlier, from July to September.
  
  

Types

• More than 20 varieties of apple grow in Arizona. Among the varieties available are Gala, Red Delicious and Fuji. If you are looking for something more exotic, try breeds like Jerseymac.
