    • 1). Remove the two front and two rear intake manifold bolts with the properly sized socket and ratchet. Slide each removed bolt in the hole located on the short side of a lifting lug. Secure the lifting lugs to the intake manifold by installing the bolts back into the intake manifold holes.

    • 2). Turn the shackle pin of a 3/8-inch shackle counterclockwise until loose and pull it from the shackle body. Push the open end of the shackle through the last link in a length of chain. Align the shackle opening with the hole in the top of the mounting lug. Thread the shackle pin in the shackle ensuring the chain and lifting lug are secured with the pin. Repeat the procedure until all four chains are connected to the lifting lugs.

    • 3). Hook the four loose ends of the chains -- secured to the 351W engine -- to the hook of the engine hoist.

    • 4). Turn the T-shaped valve -- located at the bottom of the hydraulic cylinder -- clockwise to lock it in the "Closed" position. Pump the cylinder handle to raise the 351W off the ground. Stand behind the engine hoist to avoid pinching injuries.

    • 5). Move the engine to the desired location. Turn the T-shaped valve slowly counterclockwise to lower the 351W engine in position.
