Tricameral Parliament
Definition: Tricameral means three (tri-) chambers (cameral). A Tricameral Parliament therefore has three separate sections. The Apartheid government of South Africa introduced a Tricameral Parliament in 1983 – a House of Assembly for Whites, a House of Representatives for Coloureds, and a House of delegates for Indians (Asians). Each of the three chambers determined laws which related to their own racial group.
