How to Clean the Glass Cooktop on a GE Profile Stove

    • 1). Wash the glass cooktop on your GE Profile stove every time you clean your kitchen after cooking. Use a solution of warm water and dish washing liquid. Dip a dish cloth into the solution, wring it out, and wipe the cooktop. Soak a second dish cloth in clean water, wring it out, and use it to wipe away traces of soap from the cooktop. Dry the cooktop with a microfiber cloth, and use a second dry microfiber cloth to buff it to a shine.

    • 2). Use a cleaner specifically for glass cooktops to remove marks left by pans, hard water or food spills. Gently scrub the mark using the cleaner, but do not use an abrasive scrubber to do so. If the mark is not removed, re-apply the cleaner, and cover it with a damp paper towel. Leave the cleaner to work for 30 minutes, then scrub gently again. Always rinse the cleaner off, dry the surface, and buff to a shine.

    • 3). Remove burnt food which has adhered to the cooker top of the GE Profile stove using a single edge razor blade. Apply the blade to the burnt food at a 30 degree angle. Work very gently to avoid scratching the glass surface. Use cooktop cleaner to remove any other deposits on the stove, as described above. Rinse, and buff to a shine.
