    • 1). Elect a member who will chair the meetings and regulate the sessions. This is important. When you have a group of people brainstorming, discussions can quickly get out of control if no one is moderating.

    • 2). Appoint a transcriber. It's important the only job of the transcriber is to write down the minutes of the meeting. It's important to have a written record of everything that takes place at any meeting your team has. This will make it easier to refer back to everything that took place at a particular meeting if the need should arise.

    • 3). Include at least two people to formulate general ideas. These will be members of the team that come up with the basic ideas. They should be capable of not only suggesting ideas, but ways to put those ideas in motion. Having two or more of these types of people is a good idea. It will open doors for a wider variety of ideas and allow for an exchange of ideas that will aid in better development.

    • 4). Use a creative finance specialist to manage funds and to find creative ways to bring new money into the organization.

    • 5). Add a public relations expert to the team to find creative ways to publicize your company or organization.

    • 6). Hire an attorney as part of the team. This will ensure that any ideas your team initiates will be immediately taken under the wing of a lawyer and that any necessary legal documents will be tended to.

    • 7). Meet with your creative team once a month. A brainstorm session should last between one and two hours. Anything beyond that might be counterproductive. Give your team time to digest the new ideas. If someone doesn't make it to a meeting, ensure the transcriber gets the minutes of the meeting to him or her so he or she will be up to speed for the next meeting.
