Wrinkles are something that no one wants.
However, it is also something that many people cannot avoid.
This is primarily due to the fact that the majority of persons wait until it is too late to begin to pay attention to their skin.
Wrinkles tend to develops as a person ages and from the age of 30 onwards, careful attention needs to be paid to the skin to lessen the chances that wrinkles would develop on the skin.
When you are in your thirties, this is the time when the signs of aging begin to develop and these signs are commonly shown in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines which develop on the forehead, around the eyes, around the mouth and on the neck.
There are things that can be done to prevent the onset of wrinkles when you are in your thirties.
One of the greatest injustices that you can do for your skin, especially if you are in your thirties and up is to expose your skin to the sun for long periods of time.
The sun is the primary suspect in the development of wrinkles in your thirties and research has shows that 90% of wrinkles are caused by the sun.
Many people believe that lying in the sun to get a tan is healthy but this act is detrimental to the health of the skin.
The sun should be avoided at times when it is especially hot which is usually between the hours of 12pm to 5 pm.
Between these times, being in the sun for 10 minutes without protection for your skin can cause serious damage to your skin.
Many persons tend to believe that it is better for the skin if you tan in a tanning bed rather than in the sun.
The opposite is true.
Tanning beds do much more damage to the skin than the sun does and they also have been shown to cause skin cancer since these tanning beds do not filter the harmful rays that you also get when you are in the sun.
It is imperative that a moisturizer with high SPF be used when you are going to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time.
For persons who are in their thirties and up, the focus should be on using moisturizers with a minimum sun protection factor of 45 since these would be the best to prevent the development of wrinkles on the skin.
Other practices that would be beneficial to the skin are taking multivitamins, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of water, getting sufficient exercise for the body and getting a minimum of eight hours sleep per night.
