  Longboat Key is a strip of fine white sand that sits between Sarasota Bay and the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Celebrities escape to this exclusive beach community and find solace in the luxury resorts on the island. Day visitors go over to beach comb, take in the sun or dine at one of the island restaurants. While there are no campgrounds on Longboat Key itself, there are RV resorts nearby.
  
  

Holiday Cove RV Resort

• Holiday Cove RV Resort is less than a mile from Bradenton Beach near the northern tip of Longboat Key. The park not only offers waterfront camp sites, but has a boat launch and slips for your craft once it is in the water. From the docks it's only a quarter mile from Sarasota Bay and the Gulf. You also have the option to fish from the RV resort docks. Clean your catch at the on-site fish cleaning station and have it for dinner that night. The resort offers 97 spaces, all paved back-ins that are 60 feet long and wide enough for slide-outs. Full hook-ups are available at each site, including both 30- and 50-amp electrical outlets. Each campsite has a patio, picnic table, cable TV and wireless Internet access. Pets are welcome. Some sites have been outfitted to accommodate the physically challenged. In addition to fishing and boating, the resort features a heated swimming pool, recreation hall, exercise room, shuffleboard court and horseshoe pits. Holiday Cove RV Resort also offers restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, an exchange library and a sundry store offering propane and access to fax and copy services.

Sarasota Bay RV Park

• Located two blocks from the shores of Sarasota Bay and less than two miles from Bradenton Beach, the Sarasota Bay RV Park offers a quiet atmosphere for adults 55 and over. This is the park for those who value tranquility mixed in with a bit of recreational structure. Camp hosts plan weekly exercise classes, dances, computer and art classes, ice cream socials and pancake breakfasts. The list of resort events is posted weekly. Fishermen will find a launch ramp, boat dock and fish cleaning station. There are 55 graveled sites in the rental pool, all back-ins 55 feet long with room for slide-outs. All sites have full hook-ups with either 30- or 50-amp electric service, patios and picnic tables. Wireless Internet access is available. Amenities include restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, an exchange library and a store. For recreation, there is a heated swimming pool, a hot tub, an exercise room, horseshoe pits and a shuffleboard court. Pets are not allowed at this RV park.

Arbor Terrace RV Resort

• Arbor Terrace RV Resort is a full-service park that offers daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal stays. Located less than eight miles from Bradenton Beach on the northern end of Longboat Key, the park gives you the option of relaxing or joining in scheduled weekly activities. The resort plans golf competitions, water aerobics and dancing classes, card games and bingo nights. You can rent an onsite mobile unit or park your own RV. This is a large park with 210 grassy spaces for rent. Of these, 58 are pull-throughs that are 60 feet long. The rest are back-ins measuring 45 feet. All spaces have room for slide-outs and have full hook-ups with 30- or 50-amp electrical outlets. Sites have patios, picnic tables and wireless Internet access. Pets are welcome but there are breed restrictions. Amenities include a heated pool, a shuffleboard court area, a recreation hall, horseshoe pits and a game room. Arbor Terrace RV Resort offers restrooms, showers, a dump station, laundry facilities, an exchange library and onsite church services. RV storage is also available.
