A number of people will have fond childhood memories of trips out with the family whether it was the family's annual seaside holiday or a camping trip in the outdoors, one of the most memorable parts will be loading up the family car and all packing in for the journey.
Sometimes this trip may not have gone according to plan with mum and dad squabbling over the map and directions or ice cream cones being dropped on the carpeted floor of the family car.
For whatever reason, many people will have fond memories of their old family car and may wish to buy one now.
Buying the older cars whether they were family cars or classic sports cars many people may have the will and determination to buy, possibly even restore and maintain an older vehicle that they remember but actually finding one can be a long and arduous task, you may wonder whether they even exist anymore - especially with the recent scrappage scheme that saw the end of many older vehicles.
There are many places though that still have these classic motors and many have been kept in tremendous condition by like-minded people who appreciate the design and quirks of older classic cars from many popular car makes and models.
These places often sell cars they no longer wish to own and want others to enjoy them and get good use out of them via an auction.
Car auctions are a popular way to get many cars for a bargain price, when it comes to classic car auctions there is often a big crowd as many people are interested in not only buying a classic car but many will turn up out of curiosity to see what rare models are going under the hammer and check the condition of them too.
When buying any classic car you still need to bear in mind that some details will still be needed such as the car's history.
This is more important with classic cars as they will have a much longer history than your typical car you may see advertised in the paper, such a long history will be able to tell you the care taken over the vehicle and whether there has been any recent repairs or replacements made to the car which could give clues as to how much you are likely to have to spend further down the line when it comes to keeping your classic car running smoothly.
If you have a particular model in mind then it is well worth enquiring at classic car auction sites to find out whether any auctions are being held in your area and what vehicles will be present for you to bid on - who knows, you could end up with the car you've been dreaming of and get it for a great price too.
