Vanity is usually associated with women.
They are the ones who really spend money on beauty products to enhance or highlight their looks.
They are the ones who take time to look for clothes that will flatter their bodies.
Men seldom do these.
They would grab whatever soap or shampoo they would find on the first aisle.
Or they would buy the first shirt they see on the rack that would fit.
They would not spend much time on doing shopping.
But if there is one thing that 'forces' whatever sense of vanity they have to come out, that is their hair.
A lot of men are conscious about how their hair looks.
And they become further concerned when they see any signs of balding or thinning hair.
Hair loss in men is actually very common thus they should really pay attention to it.
Hair loss in men can be caused by a number of things.
One cause is stress due to illness or any major surgical operation.
Usually, a few months after such, excessive thinning hair is experienced.
The good thing about this is that this kind of hair loss is only temporary.
It is also believed that some medicines can cause baldness.
But just like above, hair loss due to medicines is also impermanent.
Normally, after you stop taking that medicine hair loss will already stop.
Hair loss in men can also be due to fungal infection although this is more common to young boys.
This can be answered by using antifungal creams or soaps.
Lastly, the most common cause of this is Androgenic Alopecia.
This has something to do with your hormones and genes.
The androgens like dihydrogentestorone or DHT, when present in high levels, lead to hair loss because the hair follicles are sensitive to them.
As you have read, there are different causes of hair loss in men but do not worry because there are also different treatments for it.
First is DHT inhibitor.
This more or less prevents levels of DHT from going up.
There are also antiandrogens.
Unlike DHT inhibitors that lower DHT level, antiandrogens just inhibit it from reaching the follicles.
These two targets the cause but they can only work with whatever hair you have left and they cannot add anymore.
If you want to add hair on your head, you can use growth stimulant.
It encourages hair growth so you do not have to live what is left on your head.
However it does not target the cause.
There is nothing wrong with being vain with regards to your hair.
Better be vain than be bald.
