How to Attach a Vanity Counter
- 1). Fit the vanity top onto the cabinets without any caulking or adhesive. Check your plumbing to ensure it lines up, and note any changes you will need to make.
- 2). Remove the vanity counter, and run a bead of silicone caulking around the top of the cabinet sides.
- 3). Set the vanity top into the silicone. Make sure that it is centered on the cabinet, then press it down to ensure the silicone makes full contact all the way around the top.
- 4). Insert the faucet into the holes on the vanity top. Hand-tighten the mounting nuts onto the bottom of the faucet.
- 5). Wrap the faucet inlets with teflon tape and screw the supply lines onto the faucet.
- 6). Connect the supply lines to the appropriate shut-off valves underneath the cabinet.
- 7). Place the pop-up drain through the bottom of the basin. Run a bead of caulking underneath it to ensure a leak-free installation.
- 8). Connect the drain to the P-trap underneath the sink. Tighten the lock nuts in all areas underneath the sink. Allow time for the caulking in all areas to dry.
- 9). Turn on the water and test the faucet and drain for leaks. If any leaks occur, turn the water back off and re-tighten the affected areas.
