How to Keep Your Dryer From Vibrating
- 1). Test the current balance by placing a spirit level parallel with the front and side. The bubble floats in the middle of the vial, between the markings, in both positions when the dryer is balanced.
- 2). Move the dryer away from the wall slightly and tip it backward, placing a wooden block between the bottom edge of the dryer and the floor. This raises the feet and legs of the dryer off the ground for adjustment.
- 3). Loosen the nut at the top of each of the legs until they are about an inch above the feet. This nut stops the legs loosening as a result of normal dryer vibrations.
- 4). Raise or lower the legs by twisting, using an adjustable wrench based on the reading from the spirit level. Raise the right side if the bubble was too far left, raise the left if the bubble was too far right. Raise or lower both legs equally to adjust the front to back balance.
- 5). Take the block out and let the dryer stand on its feet. Check your adjustments with the spirit level and make any additional changes as necessary.
