Britons Holidaying At Home Could Provide A Boost To The Uk Economy

The fact that UK residents are deciding to stay at home might provide a much needed boost to the UK economy, especially in tourist areas and coastal towns.

New research reveals that more than half of Britons are choosing to holiday within the UK in a bid to save money and according to a recent survey Brits plan to enjoy a staycation at home. Inflationary pressures have absolutely squeezed consumers spending power and have caused them to cut down on their expenditure and stay at home instead of going abroad.

With rising fuel prices and a poor exchange rate, more people chose to stay in the UK this year than in the previous post-recession years, and in fact a recent report found one in three Britons are planning on holidaying at home and this is adding an extra 7.3 billion to the UKs tourism industry.

The most popular British holiday destinations for British travellers is Cornwall, Devon, London,
Edinburgh and Cardiff, but of course the British seaside is still a popular holiday choice and the
beaches of Devon and Cornwall attract a huge amount of holidaymakers each and every year.

A very popular type of holiday is camping and caravanning, and with so many Cornwall caravan parks
to choose from holiday makers are spoilt for choice, and many remember a holiday taken at a holiday
park as children that fills one with nostalgia and memories of some of the best holidays you ever had.
