Budapest Accommodations
If you choose the wrong district you could find yourself outside of the city and the money you save, will be spent on taxis travelling back and forth to the City Centre.
If you are going to rent for a long term, staying in the City Centre is not quite so important, as you will want to be close to your University or Workplace.
Do your homework before visiting Budapest, which will save you time and money There are 3 main construction periods in Budapest, as follows:- between 1873 and 1920 the classical old turn of the century tenement apartments, typical Austro Hungarian style.
The 1920 to 1948, typical 3 story long houses and then the 1948 to 1989 blocks of flats of the Communist era.
To day we see beautiful modern developments along the Danube bank, in the 8th, 9th and 13th districts and a few new developments in district 5, 6 and 7.
Remember that there are approximately 100'000 apartment blocks constructed between 1873 and 1920, all in Budapest City Centre, which are in desperate need of renovation.
Don't be put off by the building itself as once inside the apartment you will find a delightful, renovated, modern, light and bright accommodation.
