104 11

    Function

    • Lavender oil repels fleas to prevent them from infesting your pet and your home.

    Uses

    • Lavender oil can be applied to your pet, used in a bath and even used in your laundry's final rinse to kill and repel fleas from your pet, home and linens. It can also be applied to a pet's collar.

    Benefits

    • Using lavender oil for fleas prevents you from having to use harsh, chemical-laden pesticides to treat fleas on your pets and in your home around your family.

    Considerations

    • Lavender oil is extremely strong and must be diluted in water or another oil (such as olive, coconut or jojoba) before use directly on any animal to avoid accidental poisoning or skin irritation. The website Aromatherapy for Dogs recommends 10 to 15 drops of essential oil to 1/2 oz. "carrier" oil.

    Warning

    • Essential oils are not suitable for ingestion by pets, so animals should never be allowed to swallow lavender oil---it could be toxic to them.
