In a world where so much is out of our hands, we need to know that our relationships are solid.
We want and need to trust our partners, and will go to great lengths to ensure that we are placing our emotional lives in the hands of the right person.
This is not an article that will discuss infidelity in well-established relationships, but instead will be considering people who are about to move their relationship to the next level, and need to know their relationship is built on a solid foundation.
Firstly, a sudden change in mood, not a passing change in spirits, but a shift in outlook, can indicate a cheating partner.
This could of course be attributed to many things, but it is safe to say that anything that significantly changes your partner's outlook is something that should be shared; the change without the sharing is a bad sign.
Secondly, affairs are expensive.
Is your partner suddenly being secretive about finances? Are there areas of your finances that you are not allowed to see? Again there may be other reasons for sudden secrecy regarding finances, but it can be a sign of cheating.
Thirdly, does your partner have to work late where previously they did not? Unexpected business trips and having to work late could be the sign of career success, but it could also be a sign of cheating.
Lastly, is your partner absent when they are present? By this I mean are they disengaged from the home when they are there, do they appear to be mentally marking time until they can be somewhere else? All of the above can be the signs of a spouse having an affair.
That said they could also be the signs of many other things, both good and bad.
The fact that you would read an article that feeds your fear raises important questions about the state of your relationship.
Trust is absolutely essential for the survival of all relationships; once trust is broken, assuming it was there in the firs place, it is very hard to repair.
