How to Meet People Without Using the Internet
- 1). Get out and around. You can't meet people if you're home in front of the TV every night. Take advantage of opportunities to get out. If you get invited to a party, make sure you go. Take advantage of other ways to get out as well, such as homeowner association meetings or work functions. The more you get out, the better your chances of meeting people.
- 2). Join a club. Find a club in your area, such as a photography club or a book club. This is a simple way to meet people who share the same interests as you. Be friendly and make an effort to make conversation with the other members.
- 3). Volunteer. Find a cause that interests you and volunteer. Not only are you doing something good for others, but you are meeting people who share your values and passions for helping others.
- 4). Attend a church. Beyond the religious benefits of doing that, you can take advantage of various church functions, such as social lunches or Bible study groups. Attend these church functions and expand your social circle
- 5). Find travel mixers. You can meet new people by getting involved in travel mixers. Travel companies have different types of mixers, including women-only trips and singles trips. Not only will you get to see new places, but you will be sharing your experiences with others in a relaxed environment.
- 6). Take advantage of everyday opportunities. For example, speak to person in line at the coffee shop. Ask what type of coffee she is getting. Make a joke or give a compliment. Carry or wear something that will stand out. You can wear a shirt with a picture of your favorite singer or carry a book that interests you. The point is to stand out a little so that others notice you and want to speak with you as well.
- 7). Join a support group in your area. There are many support groups available, such as groups for people who are lonely or people who are grieving. If you are feeling depressed, there are groups for that as well. You can discuss your feelings in this group environment, and maybe make some new friends as well.
