How to Write Invitations for a School Potluck
- 1). Verify all the information needed to write the invitations. Make sure you know the correct time, date and place of the event as well as what the potluck is in support of. If the potluck is not being held on school grounds or at another well known location, make sure you have the exact address to add to the invitation.
- 2). Choose a design for the invitation that represents your theme or the school.
- 3). Add the time, date and location of the potluck in the spaces provided on pre-printed invitations. For computer invitations, type over the information included with the correct time, date and location.
- 4). Include information about the menu if you wish for guests to bring specific items. For example, you could request they bring their favorite school food or holiday dish depending on the theme of the potluck.
- 5). Indicate how much food each participant should bring. For example, add a line that reads "Bring enough food for your family plus one person."
- 6). Add RSVP information including a name and phone number or email address to contact. Include the date the guest must RSVP by. If you are printing invitations as a full page flyer, consider including a detachable form at the bottom that can be sent back to the school with the student. On the form, include a space for how many guests the family will be bringing.
