Espresso is a special type of coffee, prepared by adding large quantities of hot water under pressure above ground coffee beans. This method provides the coffee a concentrated flavor, and it is often stronger than the regular coffee. Besides the simple espresso, there is a whole variety of espresso coffees. Espresso is an Italian word, and it is the most natural beverage in the range of espresso coffees. However, the amount of water added to each espresso drink varies depending on the type of beverage, each with a different name.

A Ristretto (small coffee) is made by adding a small amount of water, while a Lungo (long coffee) involves the use of larger quantities of water in espresso preparation, the method providing to every consumer a stronger or a weaker taste.

The types of espresso drinks are divided according to what it is added besides the main ingredient. Usually, this means boiled milk. One of the best known is Cappuccino Espresso, which is made by one third espresso and two thirds milk foam. Another favorite is Latte, which is prepared with a little cream, the remaining milk being used in naturally shape. Espresso coffee with milk can have other flavorings / tastes. The most popular is Mocha, which contains the same ingredients as latte, but having extra chocolate. Another option is Affogato coffee latte, which is served with ice.
