How to Know That Your Faith in God Is Strong?
Instructions
1Ask yourself about the state of your spiritual and religious practices, which for many include prayer, attending church services and reading sacred scripture. Do these practices still seem meaningful to you, or have they become formulaic? Do you still feel inspired by your daily prayers, or does it seem as if they barely reach the ceiling (to use a familiar phrase)? If the answer is that your devotional time seems empty and rote, you may need to change something in order to bring your faith back into focus.
2
Talk to your spiritual leader. Whether the person to whom you look for guidance is a minister, priest, rabbi, chaplain, imam or some other kind of leader, sometimes speaking to someone who represents the values of your community is the best way to re-orient your spirit. Be honest with this person about what you have been going through and try to think clearly about events in your life that may be affecting your faith.
3
Spend some time alone or on retreat. Taking time away from your daily routine, whether in a quiet natural location or a spiritual center, can reveal truths about your spiritual life that may be difficult to discern amidst familiar sights and sounds. Use the time to review your spiritual journey, question your assumptions, and reconnect to that which is of ultimate concern.
