    Pilgrim Costume

    • 1). Dress a boy in a long-sleeved, button-down black shirt and a pair of black pants. Girls should wear a long black dress that has long sleeves.

    • 2). Cut a rectangular piece of white fabric that will extend about halfway down the chest and down the back of the person who is wearing it. Cut a hole in the center of the piece of fabric that is large enough for the costume wearer's head to go through it. This fabric will serve as a collar for the pilgrim costume.

    • 3). Cut 1-inch strips of white fabric that are long enough to fit around the ends of the sleeves of the shirt or dress. Use fabric glue to attach the white strips to the sleeves so that they look like cuffs.

    • 4). Wear a pair of black shoes with the costume.

    • 5). Cut a rectangle out of a piece of gold construction paper. Glue it to the front of a black top hat to create a hat for a boy's pilgrim outfit.

    • 6). Fold a piece of 12-by-18 white paper into a bonnet shape and staple it in place to make a hat for a girl's pilgrim outfit. Staple ribbon on each side and use it to tie the bonnet under the girl's chin.

    Indian Costume

    • 1). Wear a plain brown T-shirt and a pair of brown pants as the base of your Indian costume.

    • 2). Cut a hole in the bottom of a brown paper grocery bag that is large enough for the costume wearer's head to go through. Make diagonal cuts off of the sides of the paper bag for arm holes.

    • 3). Cut strips along the bottom of the paper bag so that it looks like fringe.

    • 4). Use markers to draw designs on the paper bag and make it look like an Indian vest. Let your children decorate the bag so that they can help out with the costume.

    • 5). Wear moccasins with your costume.

    • 6). Cut a piece of brown construction paper that is 1 inch wide and long enough to wrap around your head to create a headdress for your costume.

    • 7). Glue a feather to the inside of the construction paper so that it won't show. Glue the ends of the construction paper together.
