Concept

• RotoZip depends on a high-speed motor and specially designed bits to cut many building materials quickly. This same high-speed cutting concept was used in earlier tools like the Dremel. RotoZip expanded the size of this kind of tool, and added a depth guide to stabilize the unit for cutting on-the-move and to limit the depth of the cut.
  
  

Models

• The DR1 delivers 33,000 rpm and has 6 amps of power. This model does not work with the attachments and uses only the RotoZip Xbits and Zipbits. The RZ1 and RZ5 spin at 30,000 rpm using a 5-amp motor. The RZ10 and RZ20 operate at variable speeds between 15,000 and 30,000 rpm and have 5.5-amp motors. The RZ25 turns at 30,000 rpm with a 5.5-amp motor and a 50-foot cord. The CR18L is a cordless RotoZip and spins at 30,000 rpm. The RZ2000 uses a 6-amp motor that develops user-variable speeds between 15,000 and 30,000 rpm.
  
  

Attachments

• The attachments add more stability and control for specific kinds of cutting operations. You can use The Tile Cutting Dock to cut tiles, the Xshield to make cuts within 1 mm of an object, the Straight Edge Guide to make long straight cuts, and the Circle Guides to cut precisely sized circles. Use the Zipmate Right Angle Attachment to use circular blades like diamond blades and masonry blades with the RotoZip. The Jig Saw Handles turn the RotoZip into a jig saw. Use the Flex Shaft when you want to control the cutting action of the RotoZip like a pen. The Grout Removal attachment guides the cutter as you remove grout to prevent damage to the tile.
  
  

RZ2000 Attachments

• These are three heavy-duty attachments that are more intuitive to install and that include dust control connections. You can only use them on the RZ2000. They are the JSH5, a jig saw handle; the Xshield 2; and the DM5, a dust collector.
  
  

Accessories

• Zip Bits come in nine styles and you use them for cutting various materials. Xbits have designs to make specific cutting tasks quicker. For example, Tracing Xbits help limit your cuts to only the material you want to cut, and not the material in the background. Other accessories include hole saws and circular blades that cut tile and grout.
