• The Hoover Floormate is a cleaning tool designed for use on hard flooring surfaces that include wood, laminate, linoleum, tile, vinyl and similar materials. White Vinegar

• White vinegar works well with the unit as vinegar is a natural disinfectant that costs very little. Adding about 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to each cup of water used provides you with an excellent cleaning booster.
  
  

Baking Soda

• Baking soda is another inexpensive household item that deodorizes well, making it perfect for use in smelly kitchen areas or homes with pets that have odors. Again, add about 1 teaspoon baking soda to each cup of water used; you can combine this with white vinegar for added disinfectant and deodorizing power.
  
  

Dish Soap

• Adding about 1 drop of dish soap per cup of water used allows you to quickly cut through soap scum and food residue buildup found on bathroom and kitchen flooring. Again, you can combine the dish soap with the baking soda and/or vinegar for added cleaning power.
