How to Give a Baby Shower With a Monkey Theme
- 1). Get input from the mother-to-be on what type of monkey theme she would like: bright, subdued, cartoon-like, tropical, safari, Curious George, etc. As there are so many different styles of designs available, you might want her help in narrowing down the choice.
- 2). Choose the colors for the baby shower. It could be the colors of the nursery or the color specific to the gender of the baby, but it will help set the scene for the shower. Choose yellow, brown and green to really keep within the theme.
- 3). Choose monkey-themed baby invitations to alert the shower guests to the theme. Guests often like to purchase a gift or nursery décor based on the theme of a shower. There are plenty of invitations to choose from, but pick one that suits your colors and that you can base the decorations around. Use creative wording like "help us welcome our little monkey into the world," "barrel of monkeys" or "monkeying around" to keep the theme going.
- 4). Choose a monkey cake for the shower. This is a must-have and not too difficult to make and decorate at home if you are able to find a monkey cake pan. Alternatively, bake cupcakes and draw icing monkeys on them, making sure they have big monkey ears!
- 5). Try making monkey-themed food like banana bread, banana and tropical smoothies, or use a chocolate fountain with bananas for dipping.
- 6). Use palm trees and vines as your room décor for the shower. Keep table centerpieces simple by using a brightly colored vase to match your colors and placing a large palm leaf into it. Add a raffia table skirt, and you will have the perfect tropical monkey theme for your guests.
- 7). Print out, or purchase, a large color picture of a monkey. Cut the tail off, and pin the tail on the monkey will be the ideal party game.
