Peter Berg to Direct "Splinter Cell"
Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") has signed on to direct the movie "Splinter Cell," based on the Tom Clancy videogame.
Paramount Pictures hired Berg to direct the film and write the script with videogame writer JT Petty and John J. McLaughlin. Michael Ovitz will produce the movie, with Peter Berg, Michael Clancy, and Yves Guillemot serving as executive producers.
"Splinter Cell" is one of Ubisoft's most successful 'stealth' action games.
The story follows the adventures of Sam Fisher, a government spy who is hired to stop a high-tech threat by infiltrating a terrorist group.
