How to Set up Wi-Fi on Windows Mobile
- 1). Tap the "Start" menu in the upper-left corner of the Windows Mobile display. Next, select "All Programs."
- 2). Click "Settings" to open a menu of all available control panels. Click "Connections" on the next screen to view all connection types available on the phone.
- 3). Select "Wi-Fi," at which point your Windows Mobile device searches for wireless networks within range. If the Windows Mobile phone does not automatically search for networks, manually highlight and select "Search for Networks."
- 4). Select the network to which you want to connect and, in the "Connects to" list, choose whether it is a home or work network.
- 5). Check the "This is a hidden network" box if you must connect to a WiFi network that does not broadcast its service set identifier (SSID), and enter the network information.
- 6). Check the "This is a device-to-device (ad-hoc) connection" if connecting to another device, such as a personal computer, rather than a router. If connecting to a traditional wireless router, home or work network, this box should remain unchecked. Tap "Next" after reviewing your choice.
- 7). Select the security type used by the network to which you are connecting. If you are not sure, Microsoft notes that the default choices are usually appropriate.
- 8). Tap "Next" and then tap "Finish" to confirm the WiFi network configuration in Windows Mobile. Your Windows Mobile device will connect to the wireless network.
