    • 1). Fill an empty spray bottle with water. Moisten the molded areas of masonry surfaces with water prior to mold removal. This will prevent mold spores from being released into the air.

    • 2). Fill a bucket with warm water. Add a few squirts of non-ammonia dish soap to the water.

    • 3). Dip a stiff scrub brush into the soapy water. Scrub the molded areas of the masonry surfaces. Rinse the surface with a rag and plain water. Dry the surface thoroughly with fans and/or a dry rag.

    • 4). Disinfect the molded surfaces. Mix 1 ½ cups of chlorine bleach into a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water.

    • 5). Scrub the bleach mixture onto the masonry surfaces with the scrub brush. Allow it to sit on the surface for at least 15 minutes. Rinse with plain water and dry the surface thoroughly.

    • 6). Use borax powder as an alternative to removing mold from masonry surfaces. Mix 1 cup borax powder with 1 gallon of warm water. Dip a scrub brush into the solution and scrub the moldy surface. Wipe the area with a clean, dry rag to absorb any excess moisture and mold particles. There is no need to rinse the solution with water. Allow the surface to dry completely.

    • 7). Cleaning masonry surfaces with distilled white vinegar is yet another way to remove mold. Fill an empty spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar. Spray the molded areas of the masonry surface with the vinegar. Allow it to sit on the surface for about 1 hour. Wipe the surface clean with a rag and plain water. Allow the surface to dry completely.
