Function

• Nystatin is used to treat candidiasis, which is a fungal skin infection. Nystatin kills fungus and prevents it from growing. It commonly prescribed for ringworm, athlete's foot, vaginal yeast infections and fungal diaper rash infections.

• If an allergic reaction occurs after applying Nystatin, you should stop using the medication immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include breathing difficulties, hives, facial swelling and swelling of the lips, tongue or throat. Other allergic symptoms may include blistering and extreme itching.
