Nikken Business Review: The Truth About Nikken

Nikken, Inc is a multilevel marketing company (MLM) headquartered in Irvine, California. They started in Japan in 1975 by selling an item they call "Magsteps" which are uniquely designed magnetic insoles. The purpose of the insoles is to promote relaxation via the pressure points on the bottom of the feet. The use of magnetics for health reasons is very common in Japan and thus, the company began to expand. In 1979 they developed a magnetic mattress pad and then in 1989, they opened in North America where they experienced tremendous growth during the early and mid 1990's. In the course of that time period the product line expanded further into magnetized water, air filtration, and other alternative health related products.

Countless consumers of the Nikken products will tell of their exceptional results and benefits they have had. It seems that results will vary from person to person but this is constant with any health related product. The magnetic strength of the Nikken product line seems to be small enough as to not cause any harmful side effects although the company does make the general liability warning not to use the magnets if you are in your first trimester of pregnancy or if you have a cardiac pacemaker. In my own personal research, I have been unable to unearth any claims of injury by someone using the Nikken product line and, overall, the users appear to be fulfilled customers.

The Nikken business is based on the notion of using the product line and then soliciting others who will also purchase and promote the products. This Nikken business review supports the fact that success relies heavily on your ability to sell and recruit (also referred to as "sponsor"). As a consultant, the Nikken pay plan allows you to buy products at a reduced price and then earn a 5-20% commission from the sales generated from your downline. The word "downline" refers to anyone that you recruit plus anyone that is then recruited into your organization. The Nikken pay plan also uses different levels which can be achieved by a combination of sponsoring new consultants and then helping them to sponsor new consultants. Although proponents of this type of marketing will point out that it supports teamwork, it can also be extremely difficult.

There are Nikken consultants earning five and six figure monthly paychecks and there are some great incentives such as a car and home bonus which makes this form of marketing very alluring. However, as with every other MLM company, you will also be asked to make a list of everyone you know and then go out and talk to them about the Nikken business opportunity. If this type of sales appeals to you, then a Nikken business is perhaps a viable option and it is not a scam at all. It truly is a legitimate business opportunity.

The question you should ask yourself before embarking on the Nikken business or any network marketing company is "Do I want to go out and try to recruit all of my friends, family, and neighbors?" If the answer is no, then you may possibly want to seek out other online business opportunities. Although the Nikken compensation plan is good, it will still demand you to have a downline of approximately 200-300 people or more in order to earn a consistent paycheck in the range of $2500-5000 monthly. This is fairly characteristic for the industry.

If you do make the decision to develop a Nikken business or any other MLM, then I highly suggest that you have an effective system in place to help you generate qualified leads when your "warm market" is tapped out. Even if you do not need the system, your downline usually will!
