How to Clean Swanstone Sinks
- 1). Use warm soapy water or a cleaner such as Lysol Kitchen Cleaner for general cleanings. Spray the cleaner or wipe the soapy water all over the sink. Allow it to sit for several minutes to disinfect, per label instructions. Use a rag to scrub the sink clean and rinse thoroughly.
- 2). Remove stains with an abrasive cleaner such as Comet or Ajax. Sprinkle some evenly on the sink, then use a nylon-scrubbing pad (e.g. green ScotchBrite pad) to scrub it clean. Rinse completely.
- 3). Remove the most stubborn stains. Soak the sink one-quarter of the way full with equal parts bleach and water. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Use the mixture to clean the sides with a rag. Drain and rinse thoroughly.
- 4). Clean mineral-based stains with an iron- or rust-removing product such as Lime Away. Follow label instructions. Usually you apply the product, let it sit for a couple of minutes and then wipe it with a damp rag or sponge. Rinse completely.
- 5). Remove marks or discoloration with a rubbing compound designed for cars, such as 3M Rubbing Compound. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Generally, you apply the compound and then rub in circular motions to remove the mark. Rinse well.
