How to Donate to a Troop Through a Church
- 1). Contact your local place of worship, if you attend one. Ask the church secretary or the pastor about any programs the church may work with that donate to military troops. You will be given the information with instructions on how to package your items, if necessary, or how to direct your cash.
- 2). Contact other local places of worship if your church does not offer any military donation programs or if you do not attend a local place of worship. Do not limit yourself to contacting only one denomination, as many religions practice charitable giving. Use pen and paper to note your findings.
- 3). Package your items into boxes or other formats requested by the church. You may need to organize the items in shoeboxes or leave them unwrapped. If you're sending cards or letters, there may be specific ways to address or not address the envelopes.
