- 1). Make moves at the bottom of the screen. When gems at the bottom disappear, the gems above fall down into their place. The further down you make a move, the more chances there are that a falling gem from above will create a chain reaction and give more points.
- 2). Use multipliers. When you get multiple sets of gems in quick succession, a gem with "X2" will fall into play. When you make a set including that multiplier gem, you receive the times two bonus, giving all future moves twice the point value. Additional multipliers fall when you earn another, increasing your score even more.
- 3). Make moves creating a "T," a corner or row of five gems. These sets can be easy to miss, but create a special gem when performed. When you create a set using the special gem, it will either explode, taking all adjacent gems with it, shoot lightning horizontally and vertically or, for rows of five, remove all gems of the color you combine with the special gem. These moves all earn extra points and create more chances of chain reactions.
- 4). Purchase special "boost" items before a game. One boost item allows you to begin the game with one special gem, another lets you detonate the entire board at any time for a fresh set of gems and one lets you choose to rearrange the gems on the board twice, guaranteeing a match each time. Another boost adds five seconds to the game, and the last boost begins the game with an "X2" multiplier. Boosts can be purchased with in-game coins, which are earned by creating sets with yellow gems with a picture of a coin on the front.
- 5). Work quickly to make matches. If you create enough matches in rapid succession the screen will begin to flash and all sets you create will explode, taking the gems around them which gives you points and allows more chances for chain reaction matches to occur.
